Fishing tips

Learn from the best.

Good spots are half the job — the rest is craft. We've hand-picked the best videos on knots, rigs, bait and technique, from people we fish with ourselves. Videos are in Norwegian, but the hands speak for themselves.

Fiskeskolen (“The Fishing School”) is the video series from the Seeberg crew, fronted by Endre Hopland and John Ivar Askevold. Since 2017 they've made ten seasons about saltwater fishing in Norway — species, techniques, tackle and trips. All of it free and open on YouTube.

This is no random link collection: Cato — the man behind FjordSpot — has taken part in many of the episodes, and his boat is a regular in the series.

The series is produced by Seeberg, who also sell fishing tackle. The knowledge is the real deal all the same — some of the best material ever made on Norwegian saltwater fishing.

Fisk og rask

Endre Hopland has written about sport fishing on Norway's west coast since 2011 — close to 700 posts on species, techniques and trips, straight from Nordhordland. Much of what you see in the FjordSpot gallery was born on those trips. In Norwegian.

Next step

You've got the knowledge.
Now you need the spot.

The right knot in the wrong place catches little. FjordSpot finds the spot — species by species, with real Norwegian depth and environmental data.
